NCAA Summer Team Registration (required):
Beginning in the summer of 2006, all teams participating at an NCAA certified summer event must register online prior to reporting to participate in the event. Coaches are expected to keep their online rosters updated. The same address and telephone number cannot be utilized for multiple athletes. Failure to register or to submit all required information will result in the team being denied participation in all NCAA certified summer events.
Use this link to access the Basketball Certification System and choose "New Team Coach" to register a team.

NCAA Coaches Approval Process (required):
All individuals who engage in coaching activities at an NCAA-certified basketball event must be approved prior to participation through the NCAA Coaches' Approval Program. Beginning the spring of 2007, women's coaches are subject to this requirement as well.
The coaches' approval process involves an application, verification of criminal background, authorization for release of information and completion of an educational component. The entire process may be accessed and completed through the NCAA basketball certification Web site and takes approximately three to seven days to complete. To apply: NCAA Summer Coaches' Approval Process
The LexisNexis approval issued to coaches is good for a two-year period (the year issued and the year following - not a literal two years from the date issued). Individuals who have a current approval, but need to reprint their report may do so with the following link: Run Report.
If the applicant or the Event Operator has questions concerning the process, please contact the LexisNexis NCAA Support team at 800-631-8777 or e-mail NCAASupport@Screening.LexisNexis.com.
As a condition of certification, an event operator is required to verify coaches' approval prior to participation. This requirement applies to both team and individual events/camps. If the NCAA has not verified the coach as approved within the Basketball Certification Online System, it is the operator's responsibility to ensure that the individual's name appears on the LexisNexis list of approved coaches available with the following link: Approved Coaches for 2007
***Any Coach or Bench Personnel listed on the team roster will be required to fill in their approval number on the required roster. If you have someone NOT NCAA approved they should not be listed on your roster. All rosters will be checked and anyone without an approval number will NOT be permitted on the bench at game time***
HELPFUL HINTS FOR NCAA COACHES APPROVAL
The NCAA criterion
for approval is as follows:
Each applicant (anyone listed on a team's bench) must pass
the NCAA rules test with a minimum score of 70% and have no felony convictions
or felony charges pending. There is no waiver or appeal available for a
denial of approval. Once the background is completed, if there is a criminal
dispute, the applicant should contact the LexisNexis Compliance Department at
877-913-6245.
PLEASE APPLY EARLY.
